Deploy MongoDB across different Kubernetes clusters

MongoDB Operator can only deploy and manage MongoDB in a single Kubernetes cluster. However, for DR and global apps, it is important to deploy a single DataBase across multiple Kubernetes clusters to allow for DR or globally distributed apps.

    MongoDB Enterprise Operator now support multi-Kubernetes-cluster replica set deployments.     We have launched our initial preview alpha support for Multi-Cluster MongoDB Kubernetes deployments - read more here: https://docs.mongodb.com/kubernetes-operator/master/multi-cluster-quick-start/ We are planning additional releases next year.

    Any updates on this? We are a big enterprise cloud organization and our customers continue to choose the CrunchyData PostgreSQL kubernetes operator over the MongoDB operator because a lack of this feature. What's the POC status?

    We are in similar puddle, and our enterprise architecture prescribes 2 openshift clusters across different data centres. We would be keen to hear about this.

    Hi MongoDB, My department provides an OpenShift platform for a lot of projects in our organization (dozens), and we've been developing an automated MongoDB service using your Kubernetes operator for our clients. Very soon we will need a cross-site functionality for MongoDB replica sets deployed on OpenShift, to provide a stable DR in case of a cluster failure. Our architecture is an OpenShift cluster in each site (two sites), with a VM based highly available MongoDB Ops Manager.
