Config option to not open a new tab for each collection selected (old behavior)

The new mode of opening a new tab every time a new collection is selected is dreadful to me. I'm constantly closing dozens of tabs I didn't want. I would like a config option to disable the new behavior and revert to the old behavior of re-using the existing tab.

    Additionally, when I go to open a collection from, and there is already a tab with that collection open, it switches to that tab. This is a terrible solution as the reason I have that tab open doesn't necessarily match the reason that I want to open the new tab. So I may have a tab open to search for information in one way. Then I want to open a new tab to search for information in a new way. The new tab management is unintuitive and terrible.
