Ops Manager Application needs a way to backup and restore AppDB without Ops Manager Downtime to recover from infrastructure failures or fatal errors.

With the possibility of data corruption and BCP requirements, Ops Manager should provide the ability to backup and restore Ops Manager. Ops Manager is Critical as it manages alerts, performs patching, Upgrades, and handles the backup and restore of MongoDB databases. Not being able to recover from data corruption with a backup and restore of Ops Manager will cause much larger issues in the event of Ops Manager data corruption.

This is extremely critical. How could this have passed the design phase? Without the possibility to restore a backup, the whole OpsManager backup tooling seems pointless.

It is very important to be able to backup and restore the OpsManager set up for Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery purposes. Not every customer will have multiple sites to reference in this situation so the be able to recover the backup solution is critically important to them

Hi, we have to be able to restore clusters from scrach for security reasons (Infra all VMs + all clusters). currently, we can't backup and restore AppDB.

Even if you have an HA environment, it may be needed to do a full restore sometimes, even if this means some downtime of the OpsManager service for some time.
